At Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati, India and Sri Lanka squared off against each other. With both the captains on the pitch, Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bowl first for the 1st ODI match.

Rohit and Shubman Gill opened the batting attack on the throw from Rajitha. In the first over, Rohit hit the first four for the side. After 3 overs, India got a score of 22. After 7 overs, team India crossed the half-century with a score of 59. In the 13th over, Rohit smacked his 47th ODI 50. 

Sharma and Gill paired up for a great partnership and powered the team to cross the century with a score of 102 after 15 overs. In the 18th over, Gill also reached his 50-run stand, getting his 5th ODI half-century. 

Both the batters didn’t stop there and kept hitting fours and sixes, jumping up to a score of 137 after 19 overs. Fueling a huge score of 70 in 60 balls, Gill lost his wicket to Shanaka. 

Sharma missed his century and got a dismissal from Madushanka after scoring 83 runs in 67 balls. After 27 overs, India crossed the double-century with a score of 200-2. 

In the next few overs, India struggled to get a score and in the 35th over, Rahul hit a boundary, shifting to a score of 243-3. In the 37th over, Virat reached his 50-run stand. Kohli and Rahul paired up beautifully to slam multiple boundaries and sixes, getting up to a score of 294-3 after 40 overs. 

Adding 39 runs in 29 balls, Rahul got a dismissal from Rajitha and Pandya came to the middle. After 45 overs, Virat positioned India at a score of 335-5. 

In 50 overs, India posted 373 runs with a loss of 7 wickets. Now, let’s see how Sri Lankans will chase!
