Amidst the poor weather and pitch conditions, the 2nd ODI match between India and Australia got delayed and shortened to 8 overs each as per the latest cricket news. 

The captains of both the teams came upfront for the toss on the field and the Indian captain, Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to field first on the grounds of Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur.

Sharma said that the India squad will start fielding as thousands of admirers have gathered in the stadium to watch us play. As the matches are challenging, you don’t know what to do next, except express yourself. Due to an eight overs game, Rohit decided to replace Umesh Yadav with Bumrah and Bhuvi missed the show and Pant took the charge instead.

Aaron Finch also commented that if they had won the toss, they also would have opted to bowl first as the chase the runs in a short game is good. Ellis was injured and Sams came in; Sean Abbott replaced Inglis.

Aaron Finch and Cameron Green started the game on the crease while Hardik Pandya came in for the attacking bowling. On a yorker length of Pandya, Finch got four.

On a throw from Virat Kohli, Cameron Green lost his wicket in a run-out with Australia at 5 runs in 4 balls. In the second over, Finch made his room. With wonderful bowling, Axar Patel bowled out Maxwell, leaving the pitch early with 1 run.

With Yuzi coming into the attack, Finch hit the ball long off the boundary for a six after two flat ball deliveries; Australia at 31/2. Tim David’s batting wasn’t of many contributions as Axar took his wicket, allowing him to score 2 off 3. To a deep backward point, Finch got four on a throw from Bumrah. Matthew Wade stood for the run association with Finch in the 5th over. Bumrah took the key wicket of Finch who scored 31 off 15 deliveries; Australia at 46/4. Australians got 13 runs in the 6th over.

Steve and Smith moved Australia to 71/4 in the 7th over. Wade belted the bowl into the crowd with six in 7.2 overs. He got another high full toss outside off for a six to Patel in 7.4 overs. Harshal got the wicket of Smith in the last over, restricting Australians at 90/5 in 8 overs with Wade remaining unbeaten at 43 off 20.
