New Zealand Women and Sri Lanka Women came against each other in the 17th match of the Women’s World Cup match at Boland Park, Paarl. New Zealand Women won the toss and decided to bat first.

In 20 overs, the New Zealand women scored 162 runs with a loss of 3 wickets.

Chasing 163 runs, Madavi and Athapaththu came to bat, and Eden Carson opened the bowling attack. Athapaththu hit the first four of the second innings in the first over. Madavi got out after scoring 8(14) in the fourth over. Vishmi Gunaratne got out on duck in the 5th over. Sri Lanka didn’t have a great start and lost three wickets in the power play. After 6 overs, the SL women were 24-3.

Athapaththu got out after scoring 19(21) in the 8th over and Sanjeewani got out in the 8th over after scoring 1(8). After 10 overs, the SL women were 38-5. Kavisha Dilhari got out after scoring 4(8) in the 11th over. Ranasinghe got out after scoring 3(10) in the 12th over. Sri Lanka women reached 50 runs in the 15th over. After 15 overs, Sri Lanka women were 58-8. Shehani was the last wicket to get out. 

Sri Lanka women got all out in 60 runs in 15.5 overs and lost the match by 102 runs.
