ICC Men’s T20 World Cup: West Indies vs Scotland Preview

On October 17 at Hobart, West Indies will play Scotland in a T20 World Cup 2022 qualifying match. With three victories, Scotland last year advanced to the T20 World Cup’s Super 12. West Indies, who have won two championships, must compete in the qualifying rounds.

Scotland participated in the Super 12 last year after winning three games. For the Super 12, they defeated Bangladesh, PNG, and Oman. Sadly, they failed to win any of their league games.

Chris Gayle won’t be playing for the Windies in a T20 World Cup for the first time.  Andre Russell, Kieron Pollard, Sunil Narine, and Dwayne Bravo will also be absent from the team. The team’s captain will be Nicholas Pooran. The Windies are prepared for the World Cup since they have played a great deal of cricket in the lead-up to it. They face a Scotland squad that recently had a leadership transition in their debut match, which is a real banana peel. Scotland dominated the T20 World Cup stage a year ago, winning all three matches to take first place and advance to the Super 12. It should throw a wrench in Group B’s plans if they succeed in upsetting West Indies, much like Namibia did in Group A.

The T20 World Cup 2022 qualifiers are divided into two groups. They belong to Groups A and B. There are four teams in group A: Sri Lanka, Namibia, the United Arab Emirates, and the Netherlands. Four teams—West Indies, Zimbabwe, Scotland, and Ireland—make up group B.
