ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 – India vs. Netherlands, 23rd Match, Super 12 Group 2 Preview

In the Super 12 points table, India stands in the 2nd position while the Netherlands stands in the bottommost position.

Despite the early dismissal of the crucial wickets in the recent high-octane clash between India and Pakistan, India managed to crush Pakistan with beautiful innings.

On the contrary, the Netherlands fell short of nine runs in the run chase against Bangladesh. The side will aim to work better on their batting lineup, and the Dutch may fail to upend their established lineup.

Today’s battle against the Netherlands will be the same as the previous one. India knows the importance of winning today’s match; otherwise, the results may complicate their qualifications for other matches.

For the first time in 8 years of World Cup history, the Netherlands ended in a draw. They would stand tough against India’s innings. In the beginning, they made a great start before being dismissed in the recent matches, especially in the batting order.

The match will be full of thrill and excitement for both sides.

Date & Time – October 27, 18:00 Local, 12:30 IST

Paras Mhambrey said, ‘Not just for us, I think the end overs have also been a challenge for other teams. In the last game itself, people went for runs. We acknowledge that it’s going to be a challenging phase. Yes, we have bowlers for it; we have prepared for it. Us, we have identified the bowlers who are going to be our specialists as well. You have to be adaptable. You have to be able to have other options available, in case required. They might not be seam bowlers, and they might be spinners. I think you will be put in those challenges, and you will think differently at times. But we have those bowlers, and we have our plans sorted.’

Scott Edwards said about the importance of experience, ‘Tom [Cooper] is great to have in the squad. He hasn’t got the runs this tournament, but hopefully, this is the game he gets going. Both he and Roelof van der Merve bring a wealth of experience in T20 cricket. That’s huge for our guys. Especially looking at… we have three-four guys under 21 years old 21. They’re massive to have around the group and great for the team’s morale.’
