Highest Score In ODI By a Team In the History of Cricket

ODI cricket is a different format, and it is neither fast like T20 nor slow like the test. It has its temperament, and batters take time to settle and score runs after that, but as cricket starts to change, the mindset of the cricketer also changes. ODI cricket saw its first-ever total of 400 runs in 2006 between South Africa and Australia in a live international cricket match. After the introduction of T20 cricket, it has become common and nothing to be surprised about. We have come up with the list of highest totals by a team in ODI.

498/4

It is the highest total in the history of a live international cricket match. England scored it against the Netherlands in a live international cricket match. The Netherlands was on a tour of England, and in the first ODI, England made a record. Phil Salt, Dawid Malan, and Jos Buttler hit the century, and Liam Livingstone hit the half-century. They scored 498 runs with a run rate of almost 10. Butler and Livingstone hit the bowler all over the park, while Salt and Malan also played with a decent strike rate. England players hit 26 sixes and 36 fours.

481/6

Once again, England is making their place on the list, and this time Australia was the victim. Australia was on a tour of England in 2018, and England hit 481 runs in the 3rd live international cricket match. It was a record for the highest score in an ODI match; later, England broke its record. Alex Hales and Jonny Bairstow hit the century, while Eoin Morgan and Jason Roy hit the half-century. England hit 21 sixes and 41 fours in the innings.

444/3

After the 2015 world cup, England changed their way of playing and included a batsman who can fire. This 400 was the output of the effort and became the record for the highest total of ODI at that time. Later on, England broke their record and made a new record in their name. On 30 August 2016, England was playing against Pakistan and hit 444 runs. Alex Hales scored 171 runs with a strike rate of 140, while Joe Root, Jos Buttler, and Eoin Morgan scored half-centuries.

443/9

Sri Lanka was one of few teams who reached this mark, and they broke the record of South Africa just after 4 months. Sanath Jayasuriya and Tillakaratne Dilshan hit all over the park, and Netherland’s bowlers were victims of these two batters. Sri Lanka scored 443 runs against the Netherlands in a live international cricket match on 4 July 2006. Sanath Jayasuriya hit 157 runs in 104 balls, and Tilakaratne Dilshan scored 117 runs in 78 balls. Sri Lankan batters hit 3 sixes and 56 fours.

439/2

A memorable match for the cricket fan. Every South African batter joined the party and took charge on West Indies bowlers. On 18 January 2015, South Africa scored 439 runs against West Indies. Opener Hashim Amla and Rilee Rossouw started the party, and later on, AB de Villiers came as a storm and hit the fastest century in the history of ODI cricket and scored 149 runs in just 44 balls with the help of 16 sixes and 9 fours. Hashim Amla scored 153 runs in 142 balls with the help of 14 fours, and Rilee Rossouw scored 128 runs in 115 balls. This live international cricket match is a value for money for the fans.
