GT Reaches IPL 2023 Finals Consecutively; MI Lost by 62 Runs

Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians came against each other in the second Qualifier of IPL 2023 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Mumbai Indians won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill came to bat and Jason Behrendorff opened the bowling attack. In the 2nd over, Shubman Gill hit a four on the fifth ball and it was the first boundary of the match. In the 4th over, Saha finished the over with a four. In the 5th over, Shubman Gill hit a four on the second ball and Saha finished the over with a four. In the 6th over, Shubman Gill hit back-to-back two boundaries and GT reached 50 runs on the fifth ball. After 6 overs, GT was at 50-0.

In the 7th over, Saha got out after scoring 18(16) on the third ball. In the 9th over, Sai Sudharsan started the over with a four and Shubman Gill hit a six on the third ball. In the 10th over, Shubman Gill hit a half-century with a single and hit a six on the fifth ball. In the 12th over, Shubman Gill started the over with back-to-back two sixes and GT reached 100 runs and Gill hit a six on the fifth ball. After 12 overs, GT was at 119-1.

In the 13th over, Shubman Gill started the over with a six and hit one more back-to-back two boundaries. In the 15th over, Shubman Gill scored a century on the first ball with a single on the first ball and hit back-to-back three boundaries and GT reached 150 runs. In the 16th over, Sai Sudharsan finished the over with back-to-back two fours. In the 17th over, Shubman Gill hit a four and got out after scoring 129(60) on the fifth ball. In the 18th over, GT reached 200 runs on the fourth ball with a single and Sai Sudharsan finished the over with a four. In the 19th over, Hardik Pandya started the over with a six. In the 20th over, Rashid Khan hit a four on the second ball and Hardik Pandya finished the over with back-to-back two boundaries.

In 20 overs, Gujarat Titans scored 233 runs with a loss of 3 wickets.

Chasing 234 runs, Rohit Sharma and Nehal Wadhera came to bat and Mohammed Shami opened the bowling attack. In the 1st over, Nehal Wadhera hit a four on the fourth ball and got out after scoring 4(3) on the fifth ball and Green finished the over with a four. In the 2nd over, Green started the over with a four and SKY finished the over with a four. In the 3rd over, Rohit got out after scoring 8(7) on the second ball and Tilak Varma hit a six on the fifth ball. In the 4th over, Tilak Varma hit a six on the fourth ball and SKY finished the over with a four. In the 5th over, Tilak Varma started the over with back-to-back four fours and Tilak Varma finished the over with a six. In the 6th over, Tilak Varma hit a four on the third ball, the partnership between Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav reached 50 runs on the next ball and Tilak Varma got out after scoring 43(14) on the last ball. After 6 overs, MI was at 72-3.

In the 8th over, Suryakumar Yadav started the over with a four. In the 9th over, Green hit a six on the third ball. In the 10th over, Suryakumar Yadav hit back-to-back two fours and MI reached 100 runs and Green hit a four on the fifth ball. In the 11th over, Green hit a six on the fourth ball. In the 12th over, Green got out after scoring 30(20) on the second ball. After 12 overs, MI was at 128-4.

In the 13th over, Suryakumar Yadav started the over with a four. In the 14th over,  Suryakumar Yadav smashed two boundaries. In the 15th over,  Suryakumar Yadav hit a six on the second ball and MI reached 150 runs and SKY got out after scoring 61(38) on the third ball and Vishnu Vinod got out after scoring 5(7) on the fifth ball. In the 16th over, Tim David got out after scoring 2(3) on the third ball. In the 17th over, Jordan got out after scoring 2(5) on the first ball and Chawla got out for a duck on the third ball. In the 19th over, Kartikeya got out after scoring 6(7) on the second ball. MI got all out at 171 and lost the match by 62 runs.
