England tour of Australia, 2022 – Australia vs England, 3rd ODI Preview

For the 3rd ODI in Melbourne, Australia will take on England and the visitors had already lost the 3-match series and would look to avoid a whitewash in this series.

Currently, Australia is leading the series; the first by 6 wickets and the 2nd by 72 runs. The captains of both the teams didn’t participate in the previous match and may return to the final fixture.

In the first two matches of Aus vs Eng, the Aussies have dominated England and Smith scored his 2nd 50 to take Australia at a score of 280. Along with him, Marnus Labuscnagne and Mitchell Marsh got to their fifties as well. With the batters performing well enough, the bowlers, Mitchell Starc and Adam Zampa took 4 wickets to restrict Australia at 208.

Previously, England won the WC 2022. After that, both the teams have come to the crease to begin their rivalry with the ODI matches.

From the latest cricket updates, Australia will go to England for the Ashes series. With Australia winning the series may give opportunities to Sean Abbott and Josh Inglish who are yet to come into the game. Cummins can get a comeback in the XI as well.

The Australian top-order batters, David Warner, Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, and Mitchell Marsh all got to scoring fifties in the series so far. In the first two games, their bowlers delivered a clinical performance. They would look to whitewash the win.

So far, England have scored below-par totals. Apart from Dawid Malan, none other batter has got a significant score so far in the series. For the side, the opening lineup is also a major problem as Jason Roy scored 6 & 0 in the first two games respectively.

Ben Stokes retiring from the team has created an imbalance for the side. In T20 WC, he played a crucial part, getting an unbeaten score of 52 in the final. Moreover, he took 6 wickets in the tournaments that also includes his gameplay in the final match. To avoid whitewash, the England bowlers will need to step up for the series.
