Conway & Allen Stunned Australia as NZ Won by 89 Runs in WT20 Cup Super 12’s
- Australia won the toss and opted to bowl first.

Australia won the NZ vs AUS T20 13th match toss and opted to field first. The match is taking place in Sydney on 22nd October 2022 and the Super 12 stage commences with this match. As the competition enters this round, there is a lot of worry about the weather.
Finn Allen and Conway came to bowl with the former being on strike and Starc opens the attack. The first four of the NZ vs AUS T20 match came on the second ball and then the first six came on the third ball. NZ scored 14 runs after the first over, a good start indeed. After the second over, NZ was at 29 – 0. Finn Allen and Conway established a good partnership, hitting boundaries seamlessly. Pat Cummins came to bowl the third over and gave away 17 runs to Australia.
New Zealand has been playing exceptionally well and after the fourth over they secured 56 runs without the loss of any wicket. Marcus Stoinis bowled the fourth over. The first wicket of the NZ vs AUS T20 match fell on the first ball of the fifth over. Josh Hazlewood took the first wicket and Finn Allen was bowled out and it was a relief for the Aussies. Allen secured 42 runs from 16 balls. Williamson comes to replace Allen.
Pat Cummins came into the attack in the sixth over and New Zealand could secure only 5 runs in the 6th over. NZ started to play carefully after the loss of the first wicket and they were at 74 – 1 after the 7th over. The 8th over was bowled by Marcus Stoinis and NZ could only score 1s and 2s in the over, securing 7 runs from the over. After 10 overs, NZ was at 97 – 1. They are playing steadily, not wanting to lose another wicket. Although Conway made a slow start, he has been playing carefully and secured 49 runs off 35 balls after the 12th over.
The second wicket of the NZ vs AUS T20 match fell on the 6th ball of the 13th over as Adam Zampa came into the attack and Williamson was out because of LBW. Willamson could only secure 23 runs for New Zealand. Glenn Phillips came to the crease and after the 14th over NZ was at 134 – 2. After the 15th over NZ was at 144 – 2, scoring 10 runs in the 15th over.
The third wicket fell on the 6th ball of the 16th wicket as Glenn Phillips was caught and bowled by Hazlewood. James Neesham came to replace Phillips. Conway has been batting really well and has secured 81 runs for NZ off 53 balls after the 18th over. NZ secured 10 runs in the 19th over with Mitchell Starc into the attack. NZ ended the first innings with a massive six on the last ball of the 20th over securing exactly 200 runs for themselves.
Conway ensured the scoreboard kept increasing for NZ. Australia has a mighty chase and requires some serious effort to pull it off.
Warner and Finch started the second innings with Warner on strike and Boult opened the attack. AUS scored 5 runs from the 1st over. The first wicket fell on the first ball of the 2nd over as Tim Southee came to bowl. AUS could hardly score any runs and secured only 2 runs. After the third over, AUS was at 19 – 1. The second wicket fell in the fourth over and Finch got caught out by Willamson with Santner on the attack. Australia is struggling hard against New Zealand.
Glenn Maxwell comes to the crease to replace Finch. The next wicket fell in in the 5th over and as Mitchell Marsh got caught out by Neesham. Marcus Stoinis came to the crease. Australia could not establish a single good partnership till now. After the 11th over Australia was at 74-5. After the 12th over, Australia was at 82-5 with Glenn Maxwell securing 28 runs off 19 balls for AUS.
Wade got caught out in the 13th over by Conway and Ferguson was on the bowling attack. Maxwell’s wicket fell in the 14th over as he was bowled by Ish Sodhi. After the 15th over AUS was at 97-7 and winning was a luck by chance aspect for AUS at this point. Zampa’s wicket fell in the 17th over as he was bowled by Zampa. After the 17th over, AUS was at 111-9.
The last wicket fell in the 18th over as Cummins was caught out by Conway and the NZ vs AUS T20 match came to an end with New Zealand emerging victorious.
