The teams Dambulla Aura and Colombo Stars came against each other at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium, Hambantota for the 5th match of Lanka Premier League 2022.

Colombo Stars won the toss and chose to bat first. To open the batting attack, Dickwella and Mathews came to the crease on the opening bowling attack of Kumara.

In the first over only, both the batters bought two boundaries, one each. Kumara dismissed two batters, Mathews and Navod Paranavithana. In the immediate over, Dickwella smacked two huge sixes and the side got a score of 19-2 after 2 overs.

Dickwella helped the team end the power play with a significant score and kept drilling multiple fours and sixes and the side crossed the half-century with a score of 52-3 after 7 overs.

Scoring 26 runs in 25 balls, Bopara lost his wicket to C de Silva. In the 12th over, Dickwella crunched two beautiful fours and he got to his 50-run stand and in the immediate over, he bought three boundaries, crossing the century with a score of 108-4 after 13 overs. Fueling 62 runs in 41 balls, he got a dismissal from Dickwella.

In 20 overs, CLS boys posted 165 runs with a loss of 9 wickets.

For the run chase of 166 runs, Shevon Daniel and Jordan Cox came to the middle with Mathews on the opening bowling attack.

In the 2nd ball only, Daniel bought the first boundary for the side and Jordan Cox joined him with one more boundary. In the consecutive over, Cox smacked three boundaries, getting a score of 22 after 2 overs.

On the throw from Drakes, Daniel hit three long beautiful boundaries. Fueling 29 runs in 15 balls, Cox lost his wicket to Lakmal and the right-handed batter, Bhanuka Rajapaksa came to the middle. DMA crossed the half-century, standing at a score of 53-1 after 5 overs.

Scoring 28 runs in 27 balls, Daniel lost his wicket to Drakes and the right-handed batter, Tom Abell came to the crease. After 10 overs, Rajapkasa helped the team to jump to a score of 80-2.

Abell drilled huge boundaries and lost his wicket to Lakmal after scoring 33 in 22 balls. After 15 overs, the side reached a score of 121-5. DMA boys stood at 130-7 after 17 overs.

In the 5th match of the Lanka Premier League, CLS won the match against Dambulla Aura by 9 Runs.
