ICC U19 Women T20 World Cup 2023: Bangladesh Women U19 Thrashed United Arab Emirates Women U19 by 5 Wickets
Bangladesh Women U19 and United Arab Emirates U19 faced each other in the U19 women’s world cup at North-West University No1 Ground, Potchefstroom. UAE won the toss and decided to bat first.
Theertha Satish and Lavanya Keny came to bat first, and opened the innings for UAE U19 and on the other hand, Marufa Akter opened the bowling attack. In the first over, Theertha Satish opened the run account with a four and got out on the next ball, and Samaira got out without scoring any runs.
UAE lost the wickets very early and it created the pressure on UAE teams. In the powerplay, UAE scored 23 runs with a loss of 2 wickets. Mahika Gaur hit the first ever six in the 8th over, and got out in the next over. After 10 overs, UAE women were 37-3.
Lavanya Keny got out in the start of the 11th over. Shee hit four on the last ball of the 15th over and reached her team to 50 runs. Vaishnave Mahesh got out in the 17th over. Lavanya Keny got out after scoring 29(46). UAE’s batters couldn’t make a partnership and lost the wicket continuously.
In 20 overs, United Arab Emirates Women U19 scored 69 runs with a loss of 9 wickets.
Chasing 70 runs, Afia Humaira Anam and Rany Saha came to bat and Mahika Gaur bowled the first over. Rany Saha got out in the second over and Afia Humaira Anam hit the first four. Bangladesh were struggling in power play as they lost three wickets in 5 overs.
In the last over of powerplay, Shorna Akter hit 4, 6, 4, and 6. In the next over, Rabeya Khan hit a four and her team reached 50 runs. Shorna Akter continued smashing the ball, while Unnoti Akter hit a winning four. Bangladesh scored 73-5 and won the match by 5 wickets.
