For the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Super 12, Group battle of NED vs BAN, Netherlands won the toss and invited Bangladesh to bat first.
On the grounds of Bellerive Oval, Hobart, Shanto and Soumya Sarkar opened the batting attack to face the bowling of Fred Klaassen. The pitch was well paced to offer a bit of swing while favoring the batters.
Lighting the hope for the Asian side, Bangladesh, Soumya Sarkar crunched two boundaries in the first over only, getting a score of 12. Giving a breakthrough to Netherlands, Van Meekeren took the first wicket of Soumya Sarkar. Adding 25 off 20, Shano lost his wicket to Tim Pringle. After 7 overs, the side crossed half-century with a score of 51-2.
Afif Hossain tossed the ball from Shariz Ahmad high for first Six of the innings. Losing frequent wickets, Afif Hossain and Nurul Hasan helped the team to jump to a score of 79-5 after 12 overs. Atif Hossain’s strike for a six and four led Bangladesh up for 106 after 15 overs with a loss of 5 wickets.
With Atif Hossain driving his luck and Mosaddek Hossain posing the team for strength, Bangladesh ended their innings with 144 in 20 overs, losing 8 wickets.
For the run chase of 145, Vikramjit Singh and Max ODowd started the innings and Taskin Ahmed on the bowling attack but Singh lost his wicket in the first ball only and Bas de Leede lost his wicket in the consecutive ball. Netherland got wobbled with loss of 2 crucial wickets, scoring just 3 in the first over.
Max ODowd smashed a six that got the side some hope but Shakib impeded their celebrations, taking his wicket. Ackermann added much needed boundaries, scoring 32-4 after 6 overs.

In the NED vs BAN match, Bangladeshi squad was back in the groove, tweaking their form, getting a win by 9 runs while restricting Netherland to a score of 135 all out in 20 overs.
