In the Australia tour of India, Australia took the lead against India by 4 wickets on the grounds of Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali on September 20, 2022.

Australians opted to bowl first; the top order batters, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul walked up to the crease to kick off the action against the attacker Josh Hazlewood. On his strike, Sharma departed early from the pitch, scoring 11 off 9 with India at 25/1 in 3 overs.

Virat was the incoming batter to join Rahul and Adam Zampa started with three dots against King Kohli who managed to hit a four in the final ball. While struggling to find big hits, Kohli lost his wickets to Nathan Ellis; India at 35/2 in 5 overs.

After losing the big wickets, the partnership of KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav stabilized team India. Josh packed another wicket in the form of KL Rahul who slammed 55 off 35 deliveries single-handedly, moving India’s score to 103/3 in 12 overs. Yadav stole the show with back-to-back sixes against Zampa. After Yadav departed from the pitch, Pandya took the charge and stamped his authority in the game, amassing 50 in 25 balls. Giving some wonderful long-on fence shots, Pandya finished the match in style and India stood at 208/6 in 20 overs.

Australia lost its two consecutive wickets in the same over. Thereafter, the carnage by Steve Smith and Cameron Green continued and the Indian bowlers struggled to knock out and Australia reached 109/1 comfortably.
